One of the biggest attractions of the ESCP Master in Management (MiM) is the opportunity to study across Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin and Warsaw.
But this flexibility creates another question:
Which countries should you actually choose?
ESCP says roughly 75% of the MiM can be customised after the common first semester. Students can choose what they study and where they study, while specialisations are distributed across different campuses.
Don't Choose the City First
A common approach might be:
“I want Paris because I love France, then London, then Madrid.”
For a career-focused MiM, reverse that thinking:
Career Goal → Specialisation → Employment Market → Language → Campus
For example, ESCP currently lists consulting options including Business Consulting and Management Consulting Excellence in London, Consulting Dynamics and Practices in Paris, Consulting in the Age of AI in Berlin, International Business Consulting in Madrid, and Consulting: Value Creation and Transformation in Turin.
The same principle applies to finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, sustainability and other areas.
Your Campus Can Support Your Career Market
If you are considering a particular country for employment after graduation, spending meaningful time there may help you understand its business culture, meet people, explore internships and develop a local network.
ESCP itself advises students to consider campus location strategically because it can help them establish connections and potentially use that campus as a springboard into opportunities in the region.
Language matters too. ESCP notes that courses and specialisations differ by campus and may be delivered in specific languages, so language requirements can directly influence where you study.
Build a Combination, Not a Collection
Instead of asking:
“How many ESCP countries can I experience?”
Ask:
“What does each country add to my profile?”
A student targeting consulting could create one pathway. Someone interested in finance could build another. A student interested in technology, entrepreneurship or luxury may need an entirely different campus combination.
That is the advantage of ESCP: the same MiM does not have to produce the same journey for every student.
The BIDYUT Perspective
Think of your ESCP campus choices as pieces of one career strategy:
Career → Specialisation → Campus → Language → Internship → Network → Employment Market
Choose every country for a reason.
If Paris develops one part of your expertise, London strengthens another and Berlin provides exposure relevant to your target industry, the cross-country structure has a strategic purpose.
Don't travel across Europe merely to complete your MiM.
Design your journey around where you want your career to begin.
