Students searching for leading MiM programmes usually begin with France, the UK, Switzerland or Germany.
But the CEMS Master in International Management at Prague University of Economics and Business deserves attention for a different reason:
Global Network + International Experience + Prague + Relatively Low Tuition
In the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking 2026, CEMS Prague reached #11 worldwide, its best result to date. The programme was also #5 globally for international experience.
The CEMS Advantage
This isn't simply a management master's delivered in Prague.
VSE belongs to the CEMS Global Alliance, comprising 33 member schools. Students spend a semester abroad at a CEMS partner university, while international internship experience forms part of the programme.
That changes the proposition considerably:
Prague ? CEMS Network ? Exchange ? International Internship ? European Exposure ? Career
For a student who wants international mobility without paying the tuition charged by some private European business schools, that combination deserves examination.
The Cost Is Particularly Interesting
For students entering in 2027/28, VSE states tuition of ?6,000 per academic year, applicable equally to EU and non-EU students. For the 2026/27 intake, the published fee is ?5,000 per academic year.
Compare that conceptually with some of the programmes we have already examined where tuition alone can exceed ?40,000-?50,000.
Lower tuition, however, does not automatically mean higher ROI.
Students still need to consider living expenses, internship opportunities, employment geography, language and expected salary.
What Do the Career Indicators Tell Us?
VSE reports that alumni represented in the FT 2026 ranking earned an average annual salary of $101,296 three years after graduation, while overall programme satisfaction was 9.07/10.
This number requires an important qualification.
It is an FT alumni salary measure three years after graduation, not a promised starting salary for a new international graduate in Prague.
That distinction is especially important when discussing ROI with parents.
Is Prague the Real Opportunity?
Prague can offer students access to a Central European economy and multinational business environment.
But the bigger advantage of this particular programme may be that the student's career ecosystem isn't restricted to Prague.
The CEMS structure intentionally creates international mobility through the semester abroad, internship and wider school/corporate network.
For Indian students, this makes the programme worth considering as a European platform, rather than simply a Czech degree.
Admissions Are More Than Academic Marks
Another interesting difference is the selection process.
Applicants must provide academic records, English proficiency, evidence of a second language, international/work experience and a motivation video. Shortlisted candidates then participate in an online assessment centre evaluating areas including teamwork, motivation, communication, flexibility and analytical thinking.
That tells students something important:
CEMS is looking beyond grades.
The BIDYUT Perspective
This programme becomes particularly interesting when we compare career opportunity against total investment.
Think about the models we have examined:
HEC Paris ? premium brand + extensive global ecosystem
St. Gallen ? small cohort + strategy
WHU ? German corporate ecosystem
SSE ? Nordic ecosystem + CEMS
Vlerick ? strategy/consulting + personalised career support
VSE Prague ? lower tuition + CEMS + international mobility
For an Indian student, I would evaluate Prague through:
Total Cost ? CEMS Network ? Exchange ? Internship ? Language ? Target Country ? Employer ? Career
And this leads directly back to our earlier ROI discussion.
A MiM costing substantially less does not automatically provide weaker career opportunities, just as an expensive MiM does not guarantee a better career.
So don't ask only:
"How can a ?6,000-per-year programme rank #11 globally?"
Ask:
"How effectively can I use the CEMS network and European mobility to turn that lower investment into a strong international career?"
That is the more interesting story behind Prague.
